NV Energy Commercial Incentives & Rebates
Utility capital, set aside to fund efficiency. We find it, file it and verify it.
How do NV Energy commercial rebates work?
NV Energy commercial incentives pay part of the cost of qualifying efficiency upgrades. Prescriptive incentives pay per unit; custom incentives pay on calculated savings. Under 2026 rules, retrofit incentives cannot exceed 50% of project cost, and funds are first-come, first-served. We manage the full application.
Two paths to incentive funding
Prescriptive incentives
A set incentive per qualifying unit, such as LED fixtures, refrigeration equipment or cooling measures. Simple and fast.
Custom incentives
For any measure that can verifiably reduce energy use. The incentive is based on engineering calculations and, often, metered savings. Measures eligible for prescriptive incentives are not eligible for custom incentives.

What qualifies, and how much?
Facts from NV Energy's 2026 Business Energy Services program materials. Amounts and availability are subject to program approval.
| Annual project cost (per Tax ID) | Incentive tier |
|---|---|
| $0 – $100,000 | 100% |
| $100,001 – $500,000 | 50% |
| $500,001 – $1,000,000 | 20% |
| $1,000,001 and up | 10% |
Retrofit incentives cannot exceed 50% of project costs (retro-commissioning excepted). Limited-time offers are capped at $10,000 per project, and the combined incentive may not exceed 50% of total project cost.
Small business path
NV Energy electric customers using less than 400,000 kWh per year: incentives can cover up to 90% of project cost.
Non-profit grants
Non-profit projects may be funded in full up to $5,000; grants between $5,000 and $10,000 require a 50% match.
Limited-time offers
2026 offers include Advanced Energy Management Systems, Advanced HVAC Optimization Controls, AI-Enhanced Lighting Controls and Guestroom Energy Management Systems.
Why lighting plus controls earns more
LEDs cut the watts. Controls cut the hours. Because incentives reward verified savings, adding networked lighting controls to an LED retrofit can increase the incentive by 20–50%.
1. LED retrofit
Up to 70% wattage reduction.
2. + Networked controls
Typically 20–40% further kWh reduction, and a 20–50% larger incentive.
3. + Eniscope + VEM
Verified, persistent savings that hold up for finance and the utility.

Frequently asked questions
How do NV Energy commercial rebates work?
NV Energy funds incentives for qualifying efficiency measures. Prescriptive incentives pay a set amount per unit; custom incentives are based on calculated or measured savings. Applications are reviewed before work starts, and incentives are paid after installation is verified.
How much of my project can incentives cover?
Under NV Energy's 2026 Business Energy Services rules, retrofit incentives cannot exceed 50% of project cost, with tiering by annual project cost per customer. Small businesses using under 400,000 kWh per year may see up to 90% coverage.
Is incentive funding guaranteed?
No. Funding is limited per program year and administered first-come, first-served. Incentives are subject to program approval.
Why do controls increase the incentive?
Controls add verified savings on top of the hardware upgrade. Stacking lighting with networked controls can increase the incentive 20–50%.
Do you handle the paperwork?
Yes. We prepare the application, supporting calculations and documentation, and track it through approval.
Do incentives apply in Northern Nevada?
Yes. NV Energy serves both Southern and Northern Nevada; some limited-time offers differ by region.
